Dog Training
There are many different types of dog training from puppy socialisation classes to agility training and basic obedience to guard dog training. Here at The Dog House we cater for all needs....
Puppy Socialisation and Training
The most important period in any dog’s life is its sensitive period during its time as a puppy. Give your dog the best start in life with early socialising and training at our weekly classes.
You and your dog will learn lots including house training, bite inhibition, sit, down, stay, recall, not to jump and much more including supervised socialisation in small groups. This is suitable for all pups to start from 12 weeks to 20 weeks old as long as they have had both of their vaccination jabs.
Adult Obedience Classes
If your dog is older than 6 months and in need of some basic training then our obedience classes are for you. During the 6 week course you will learn all you need to make your dog sit, lay down, stay, recall, walk by your side, door control, stop jumping, leave plus much more. Note: Your dog must be fully vaccinated to attend.
Behaviour Modification
If your dog has a behavioural problem, let us help. We deal with all problems including aggression. All behaviour modification must have an initial consultation where we can advise on the number of sessions the training may need. Some problems can be dealt with in just one session.
Guard Dog Training
Dogs trained as guard dogs are trained to a very high standard. Before any guard training can commence the dog must be fully conversant with all basic obedience commands. There is no set time scale for guard dog training however on average; training takes 12 sessions for a dog with good basic skills
Agility Training
We offer fun agility classes for dogs of all levels. Fun is the key word here, no competitions! Dogs love agility because it gives them lots of fun exercise and something they can focus and improve on.
We offer agility sessions throughout the week and also on Saturdays.
Residential Training
At The Dog House we understand that not all dog owners have the time to train their dogs as much as they would like. After much customer feedback we now offer residential training for dogs. You leave your dog with us and we return them trained to your requirements. There is no set timescale for residential training but most training takes 3 weeks and your dog spends its evening in our home not in kennels. Upon return of your best friend, we include a handover session to show you what they have learnt and how you can build on it.
